OCTA 2130 Therapy Development/Practical Learning

The Occupational Therapy Practical Learning course consists of multiple clinical observation opportunities, under an occupational therapy practitioner, in various settings appropriate to occupational therapy services.  This experience will be used to develop the student's skills in implementing the occupational therapy process in context.  This course allows students to engage in the Fieldwork Level I activities across a variety of OT treatment environments to experience authentic OTRs and COTAs in clinical environments.  This experiential learning is designed to develop professional behaviors and effective communication skills that will translate to Level II success.  Practical learning, threaded throughout the OTA program, is also evaluated in groups and in the form of quizzes and practical exercises.  This course is for OTA majors only.
