OCTA 1310 Fundamentals of Occupational Therapy

This course introduces students to the profession of occupational therapy (OT) by examining its history, development, philosophy, and theoretical foundations.  The profession's practice framework, principles, standards of practice, and ethical guidelines are thoroughly examined in this course.  This course also covers medical terminology, develops awareness of professional responsibilities, safety regulations, and clinical processes.  This foundational course prepares the student for higher-level OTA courses.  This course is for OTA majors only.
